Lara Bellini
Throughout my life I sought meaning, connectedness and healing.
It was the spiritual music of John Coltrane that inspired me to seek a successful career in music and media, culminating in a long tenure at the BBC.
It was a desire to give back all I learnt to the next generation, in true co-creative connectedness, that drove me back to academia and the beautiful, alchemic art of teaching (educate has its roots in the Latin ex-ducere, to enable a knowledge that is already present in us).
It was a dear friend who suggested I should try yoga – and so a journey towards embodied presence, healing and accessing a Higher Self opened up.
It was a profound longing to welcome joy and contentment in life, to be my most true authentic self, that inspired me to seek help and guidance in Jungian psychotherapy.
It was an interest in psychology that led to the collaboration with psychiatrist, friend (and fellow traveller in this healing journey) Piero Cipriano, who invited me to contribute to his collection ‘Basaglia e le metamorfosi della psichiatria’ (Basaglia and psychiatry’s metamorphosis)
All of this, and more, I bring to trauma informed yoga practice, in shared authenticity.
Thank you for finding the time to read this.
